The Terroir
Daterra is a farm located in Cerrado, Brazil. Their main focus is on sustainability and quality, with an experimental approach. The farm is owned and run by Luis N. Pascoal and has existed for more than 30 years.
Nestled within the serene embrace of a stable climate characterized by dry-fresh winters and warm-wet summers, the Cerrado region presents an ideal canvas for the cultivation of remarkable coffee beans. This is the essence of Daterra farms, situated in the picturesque city of Patrocínio, where the oldest coffee plantations in the Brazilian Cerrado region thrive, making it one of the nation’s most prestigious coffee-producing areas. The plantations flourish at an average altitude of over 1000 meters , with some terroirs reaching elevations of approximately 1300m.
In this exceptional environment, where wind, sun, and soil harmonize, Arabica coffee trees find their perfect home. The diverse altitudes and microclimates on the farms conspire to create a captivating array of flavors, from velvety-chocolaty to brightly-floral, destined to enchant your palate.
Beyond being a sanctuary for outstanding coffee, the farms are a gathering place for coffee aficionados and world-renowned barista champions. Here, they collaborate to pioneer innovative processes for coffee cherries and craft new micro-lots of extraordinary coffees, pushing the boundaries of coffee cultivation and brewing to bring you an unparalleled coffee experience.
